More Music from the Show
Jump! (Live) by The Guitar Knives
Running To Stand Still W/Jump by The Guitar Knives
I had a little bit of time between studying and I thought I'd go ahead and shoot out another couple of tracks from my band's 1st show of the semester.
Tom Cervantes, our bassist, is covering the main vocals on these, with me on drums doing backup vocals. Alex is rocking the guitar and harmonica.
Jump: An original we've been working on since this past March, catchy, fun every time we play it - We also had 70 + people jumping at MIT's Student Center at our last show!
Running to Stand Still + Jump Reprise: This is one of our favorite covers to play as of late. Everyone started singing along in the Hallelujah section and Alex managed to get in some harmonica, despite a mixup with some mics. The Jump Reprise is something we had to finish out the show.
It's very interesting looking back at our show as we move forward with the band and discover more about where we are headed and what we want as a band. We will continue to audition singers and are looking at creating and developing more originals.
If you have any feedback/ideas at all - please feel free to email us at theguitarknives@mit.edu
Playing up on stage is one of the things that I have the most fun doing. It is an exhilarating experience every time. Who says you can't be artistic at MIT anyway?
I'll keep you posted - back to studying for my Chinese test tomorrow ---
