Rocking out is what I love to do.

My band played this past weekend at the MIT Student Center as part of new concert series.

We came.  We saw. We rocked.   5 originals (incl. a premiere of a new original!) + a few covers made for an amazing night. (further review and music to be posted.)

My friends and I just started a new student group - the MIT Live Music Connection in order to bring live music together in a centralized way on campus.  Tom and I sat down to lunch a little over a month ago and dreamed up this amazing idea.  It has now materialized into the concert series that my band opened for.  More details below.

There'll be more details to come, but suffice it say, that this idea will center around bands on campus, people interested in participating in live music, and people who just enjoy it.  My friends and I fit all three categories.  It's a real passion for us.

The following is a post to the groups new blog/site - http://theinfinitemusic.com

I'll keep you posted as more things develop with this new movement we're bringing to MIT.

----

The MIT Live Music Connection, a newly recognized MIT student group just held our inaugural event.

Thanks to all those who came out!  More than 75 of you showed up and proved that live music on campus is something we can all benefit from.  Thanks for helping us prove the concept - we're well on our way now to making MIT a better and more musical place!

We hope you enjoyed it - Thanks so much to Levi Schmidt and The Guitar Knives for helping us kick off our Fall Concert Series!

Music and More Photos to be posted soon!

The MIT Live Music Connection is a group that exists for the active promotion and collaboration of musicians on MIT's campus.  We want to bring groups together in a variety of ways that can help foster a sense of community here on campus.

Here's the Fall Concert Series Schedule:

10/16  - Levi Schmidt,  The Guitar Knives

10/30 (Coffeehouse Lounge) - Intergalactic Space Gunk, Supa Dupa

11/13 (Coffeehouse Lounge)- Castle Bravo, Cappricio

11/20 (Coffeehouse Lounge)- A night of Jazz with Ms. Prynne and the Demon Babies (feat. Balaji Mani)

12/4  (Mezzanine) - (tentative roster for this date) - Levi Schmidt, Capriccio, The Guitar Knives

We hope to see you there!

Please feel free to email us at lmc-exec@mit.edu with any ideas for the new group.  We're working a lot on how to best serve the MIT Live Music community in the short and long-term future.

-Kevin Rustagi, Co-President MIT Live Music Connection.
